Puck: A Fairy’s Tale
‘A deeply moving and relevant piece of theatre for our times.’ - We Love Brighton
‘…the perfect energy for a show about the Shakespearean character.’ - Broadway World
Inspired by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Puck: A Fairy’s Tale reimagines the iconic character of Puck as a neurodivergent young person navigating the rift between his parents, Oberon and Titania, and his complex relationship with his new sibling, Titania’s changeling boy. Caught between two worlds, Puck must, in a journey of magic and mischief, discover who he is on his own terms.
Accessible for all ages, this production finds the themes of neurodiversity, family, and identity that have always been present in classic texts and brings them to the foreground of a new story. In representing these concepts onstage through a character as iconic and ‘canonical’ as Puck, we aim to question prevailing interpretations of popular texts as well as demonstrate that neurodivergent people should be represented onstage now, and have always been present in our most-told stories.
Puck: A Fairy’s Tale premiered at Brighton Fringe in May 2025, where it was shortlisted for Best New Show. The show went on to play at Riverside Studios in July 2025 as part of their Bitesize Festival, and at Camden Fringe in August 2025. It is now in talks for a move to an in-house run at a UK theatre, anticipated for 2026.
